A multifaceted musician.
As a conductor, Reed studied with Dr. Thomas Caneva, Dr. Jeremy Harmon, and Dr. LaToya Webb during his Master of Music in Wind Conducting at Ball State University, with Dr. Rodney Dorsey, Dr. Eric Smedley, and Dr. Jason Nam at Indiana University, and with Dr. Robert Cameron at Duquesne University. Reed has led a wide variety of instrumental and vocal ensembles from the podium, and has participated in several conducting workshops across the midwest.
Reed studied french horn with Professor Gene Berger at Ball State University, Professor Jeff Nelsen at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and with Mark Houghton of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He has also studied classical voice with Dr. Brian Horne, harp with Dr. Joanne King, and piano with Mrs. Sallye Zeringue and Dr. Gregg Bunn. Outside of his regular teaching duties, Reed substitutes in the horn sections of the Indianapolis Symphonic Band and Indiana Wind Symphony, and performs regularly with a brass quintet.
